My life is in your hands – by Kirk Franklin

Abstract:

Join me this week as I share a song each day that I find Inspirational, uplifting, thought-provoking or simply beautiful.

Day 5:

My life is in your hands – Kirk Franklin

Powerful, powerful song! One of my favourite especially when faced with tough life challenges. This song served as a personal comfort the past few years as close members of my wider family sadly passed away.

When trying to make sense of life, it’s challenges, trials, hurts and pains, the words of this song remind me that no matter what life throws at me, if I’ve put my trust and hope in Jesus, he will help me through. But He is not just the ‘God of the storm’ or a crutch to hold me up in difficult times. He’s always there come rain or sun. Even when my trial seems like an incomprehensible wave about to swallow me in, I know my God is bigger than the storm. I feel that the words of the song speak more eloquently than I ever could, so here they are 🙂

Lyrics:

You don’t have to worry,
And don’t you be afraid,
Joy comes in the morning,
Troubles they don’t last always,
For there’s a friend in Jesus,
Who will wipe your tears away,
And if your heart is broken,
Just lift your hands and say.

Oh
I know that I can make it,
I know that I can stand,
No matter what may come my way,
My life is in your hands.

With Jesus I can take it,
With Him I know I can stand,
No matter what may come my way,
My life is in your hands.

So when your tests and trials,
They seem to get you down,
And all your friends and loved ones,
Are nowhere to be found,
Remember there’s a friend in Jesus,
Who will wipe your tears away,
And if you heart is broken,
Just lift your hands and say.

Oh
I know that I can make it,
I know that I can stand,
No matter what may come my way,
My life is in your hands.

With Jesus I can take it,
With Him I know I can stand,
No matter what may come my way,
My life is in your hands.
