Drawing Challenge #14

The aim is to do as many detailed drawings as possible, as often as possible, to fill up my sketchbook by the end of the year.

Another quick-fire observational sketch during an hour long lunch breakΒ last week. I felt a slight improvement from my previous people-sketching attempt in Drawing Challenge #12. However, the awkwardness of trying to be subtly sketch people that are sat metres away remained.

Let me know what you think.

Drawing Challenge #12

The aim is to do as many detailed drawings as possible, as often as possible, to fill up my sketchbook by the end of the year.

Sometime last week, I went back to doing observation sketching to try and improve on my people-drawing skills.

Practise will definitely make perfect with these odd-shaped beings I managed to create.

At times, it did get a little bit awkward as I was sat with sketchbook in hand trying to discretely sketch people without staring too much. They would occasionally look back at me with an curious glint in their eye which said ‘is he drawing me?’

Nonetheless, one subject would soon finish their overpriced beverage and [more importantly] vacate their seat for the next unassuming victim.

What I used:

Simply pen and paper.. May need to diversify soon!
